Greetings!
Let us introduce ourselves. We are Cathy Bandy and Kimberly Nofz, your District Community Services Facilitators. As parents of school-aged children, we are fully aware of the many challenges that parents face in raising kids in today’s society. We have made it our mission to raise the awareness in our community as to the importance of the role of parenting. We are assisting families by identifying areas of interest through routinely conducting various types of surveys to learn about our student’s behaviors, parent’s concerns, and community needs.
Some of the ways in which we are doing this include:
- Hosting parent education opportunities
- Researching materials, programs and resources for families
- Maintaining individual building Family Resource Centers
- Facilitating parent support groups
- Building community relationships
- Linking families to local community resources
- Developing an informational parent webpage
If we can help you or if you have ideas on how we can better assist our families in their role as parents, please feel free to contact us at parentinvolvement@vanburenschools.net or 734-697-9123.
